![]() None of these concerns are regarded with much interest by the current gym teacher, who doesn't see even the most severe as reason to go to the nurse's office. ![]() In gym class, these injuries are especially rampant, in ranging severity from tripping to being hit with soccer balls in the face to bones being broken. Similarly, injuries are regarded as unimportant, and more often than not even serious injuries such as possible head trauma don't seem to warrant a quick phone call home. If a racial slur is used between students with intent to emotionally harm, and the issue is brought to the principal, don't expect her to deliver much more than a chiding whereas other issues, while infrequent, are taken care of much more zealously. The staff also has a habit of ignoring important issues such as injuries and certain types of bullying. The education is about average, not much better than public schools, and the teachers, while experienced, are largely short-tempered and illogical in their grading systems. My child attended this school for a few years. Thank you also, to the principals and administrators who run the best school on Long Island. I believe my son will be well prepared for high school and college. You are very special teachers and we owe you so much for your sacrifice and dedication. Thank you to all those teachers who have taught my son and brought his performance up to the level it needs to be. No doubt my son has had some tough teachers who do not tolerate substandard work and bad study habits from my son. My son did well on the state exams and I believe it has a mostly to do with the teachers and their commitment to making sure each student is taught and encouraged to excellent to the best of their ability. They have an awesome no-bully policy.and encourage the students to embrace each other's diversity. ![]() The teachers are very helpful and interesting. ![]() He is now a couple months into the 7th grade.
